Lake Ashi

This vast lake with gorgeous view of Mount Fuji can be enjoyed aboard a pirate ship or pleasure boat sightseeing cruise. There are also historic and cultural sites around the lake including old roads, the Hakone Sekisho checkpoint and renowned Hakone Shrine. (35minutes from the facility)

Culture and history

Hakone Shrine

Over 1,250 years old, this famous shrine with rows of sacred 800-year-old cedar trees has recently become a popular power spot for romance. (30minutes from the facility)

Hakone Sekisho (checkpoint)

Officials inspected travelers here during the Edo era when travel was severely restricted. The building was restored using tools and techniques of the time to create a museum where tourists can experience the atmosphere of the era. (20minutes from the facility)


The Hakone Open-Air Museum

Stroll around the spacious grounds and enjoy a wide variety of unique sculptures by modern masters. (10minutes from the facility)

Hakone Glass no Mori Venetian Glass Museum

Japan’s first museum dedicated to Venetian glass also exhibits must-see glass in the gardens with seasonal themes. (20minutes from the facility)

Okada Museum

Hakone’s largest private museum permanently displays about 450 ceramics, paintings and other works mainly from China, Korea and Japan. (3minutes from the facility)

Pola Museum of Art

An impressive collection of about 10,000 works are on display mainly from impressionists Renoir and Monet, the School of Paris and other 20th-century schools. The beautiful cruciform museum building harmonizes with the natural scenery of Hakone. (22minutes from the facility)


Hakone Mountain Ripper

Hike and mountain bike around the Sengokuhara area of Hakone on tours with an experienced local guide. Reservations are required. (25minutes from the facility)

Suzuhiro Kamaboko Village and Museum
